Another winner! This week Lisa and I took a helicopter flying lesson. It included some classroom time on how helicopters work/fly, some flight simulation time and then air time. The helicopter was a 2 seater – only 875 lbs (about a third of the weight of your car). What that means is that you have a moment up there of feeling like you are flying 800 feet in the air in a glorified g0-cart. What this also means is that you really are the one flying it – even during your first lesson. They tried hard to get me to fly with the door off but as you can see from the pictures, it was more like the entire side than just a door…I opted to keep it on and focus on flying versus jumping out which is what you want to do when you are afraid of heights. Do I need to repeat that? There are a few of you out there that get it – you are afraid of falling but are also drawn to jump. This has provided years of comedy(?) to my husband when we are on a chairlift with no bar and all of a sudden I say “I think I am going to jump…” They say you need to keep the excitement in the marriage. Does that count?
