Going to watch the LA Derby Dolls in a warehouse just outside of downtown LA was not exactly your typical family-fun fare but we did have a great time. Both my and Erin’s families joined us on this We Never. We were probably the only families in attendance but no one seemed to mind. The crowd was dense and raucous around the track as the girls did what roller derby girls do – bashing into each other as they protected the jammer (the girl trying to score by lapping the opponents). It would have been better for this 49-year-old if we could have been seated to watch the fun (which included people-watching the crowd). But I suppose that would have taken away from the experience – one worth the $15 price of admission.
